I travel a lot for my current work, which means I also use a lot of rental car companies in every city that I happen to travel in and out of properly. I don’t usually have too much of a problem. My largest pet peeve honestly has to be when I clearly ask for a non-smoking vehicle as I have a terrible asthma issue with regard to various types of smoke and it is even more clear that either someone violated their rules or they simply ignored the pointed request. I usually find this out often when it is too late and I have already been driving around on the road for a while and I have no time to turn back in order to make my meeting punctually. It will usually happen with a single click of the a/c or heating unit in the car and blasting through the air filters is that rather terrible hint of smoke that just irritates the senses and seeps in my company clothes. It make myself as well as others so furious that they cannot at least have the courtesy to check the air filters and have their various cooling and heating systems properly looked after. After all, the companies are asking so much money of us to rent their cars weekly, the least they could do is schedule a typical Heating, Ventilation, and A/C maintenance provider to come in and go ahead and replace out the filters on a typical basis for the air filters are where the real concerns lie. I suppose I would probably have a lawsuit if I absolutely wanted to do something about it, since it states clearly in my contract that I have an asthma symptom related to smoke and suggested non-smoking car for my company usage.
